‘Mrs. America’ Executive Producer Stacey Sher Signs Deal At FX

Stacey Sher (Mrs. America) has signed a deal with FX productions, according to VarietySher is most well known for her work in producing features, including Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight alongside the FX series Mrs. America.

“It’s been a great privilege for me and the whole FX team to work with Stacey as an executive producer, and I’m grateful that she will continue to call FX her home,” chairman of FX John Landgraf said in a statement. “Stacey’s track record of success speaks for itself. She has great creative instincts and is one of the most respected producers in this business. We’re very excited about her development slate and eagerly await her next projects,” via VarietySher’s series, Mrs. America went on to receive a total of 10 Emmy nominations.

Starring Cate Blanchett (Ocean’s Eight), Mrs. America follows the journey of a conservative woman named Phyllis Schlafly (Blanchett) as she seeks to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. She is joined by iconic second-wave feminists, Gloria Steinem, played by Rose Byrne (Neighbors), Shirley Chrisholm, played by Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), Alicia Macray, played by Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), and Betty Friedan, played by Tracey Ullman (Tracey Ullman’s Show), among others.

“I am thrilled to be continuing this creative partnership with the incredible team at FX,” Sher said. “I have had the privilege of collaborating with John Landgraf many times over the years and, together with Gina Balian and Eric Schrier, they have continuously been passionate and supportive partners.
