According to Marvel.com, Marvel’s Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur began at the end of 2015. It is the creation of four writers: Brandon Montlcare (Halloween Eve, Fearsome Four) and Amy Reeder (Amethyst, Fool’s Gold) along with artist Natacha Bustos (Going Howhere). The comic was created as a sequel to the original written by Jack Kirby (Thor, Fantastic Four). As we know, all Marvel heroes have superpowers and Lunella’s is that she is a genius. Lunella is kind of an outcast until she teams up with the Devil Dinosaur.
Diamond White (The Bold and the Beautiful, A Madea Family Reunion) stars as Lunella. The Devil Dinosaur is voiced by Fred Tatasciore (Hit-Monkey, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness). Other cast members include Sasheer Zamata (The Weekend, Saturday Night Live) and Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts, Judas and the Black Messiah) who will play Lunella’s parents. Marvel’s Luke Cage actress, Alfre Woodard, has been cast as Lunella’s grandmother, with Gary Anthony Williams (The Boondocks, Undercover Brother) playing her grandfather. Lunella’s best friend, Casey, will be played by Libe Barer (Sneaky Pete, I See You) and Fishburne will also appear as a recurring character called The Beyonder.
Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur concluded in November of 2019 after a total of 47 issues. Moon Girl had many adventures including a two part-crossover in which she teamed up with the Fantastic Four. She also joined forces with Daisy Johnson better known as Quake from the Secret Empire series.
