Disney+’s upcoming Marvel series, Moon Knight, has added F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus, Scarface), to its cast, according to IGN. Alongside Oscar Isaac (Dune), who will play the role of Moon Knight, Abraham will voice the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu.
The Moon Knight trailer was revealed in January during the NFL’s wild card playoff game. Khonshu was visible in the trailer – hunting Isaac’s Marc Spector. The newest MCU series follows a gift shop employee who is diagnosed with a dissociative identity disorder and is gifted the powers of an Egyptian moon god, which complicates his life even more when he realizes he must share his body with mercenary Spector.
The series synopsis states, “As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
Described as the “Greatest God of the Great Gods,” Khonshu is represented by the Moon and is typically depicted as a falcon in Egyptian hieroglyphics – in conjunction with Moon Knight‘s long beak and mysterious look.
The trailer can be viewed below and Moon Knight will be released March 30, 2022.
