The network will team up with Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry to produce a remake of the successful musical, The Hollywood Reporter explains.
The project will have musical elements in the same vein as the series Nashville and has been described as a “contemporary reimagining of Gaston Leroux’s gothic novel and set in the sexy and cutthroat world of the modern-day music business.”
This will be the first television adaptation of the musical since NBC aired a two-part miniseries in 1990.
