According to Variety, Mo McRae has been cast in season two of Empire.
Mo McRae is most known for his role in Sons of Anarchy but he was also in Lee Daniels’ The Butler. His appearance on the second season of Empire will mark a reunion between Lee Daniels and Mo McRae.
McRae will be in three episodes during the second season along actress Gabourey Sidibe who plays Becky. McRae has been cast as J-Poppa who is a love interest for Becky and he also develops a relationship with Andre (Trai Byers).
Lee Daniels has recently talked about his abundance of celebrity guests coming to the second season and trying not to stray to far from Empire‘s origins, “I find that the more celebrities, the more stars I put on this show, the more it takes away from the (Lyon) family. The family, the family, the family is the most important thing” (New York Times).
