Grab your Eggo waffles, Stranger Things fans. It’s been confirmed that Millie Bobby Brown, who plays breakout character Eleven, will be returning for the show’s second season, TVLine reported.
While it may seem like a no-brainer that one of the most popular characters would be returning to the show for its second season, the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, remained tight lipped about whether Brown would be back. There was also speculation that a new female character, Max, would be taking over Eleven’s spot in the group.
But now, fans can rest easy knowing that Brown, and Eleven, will be back in some sort of way for the second season.
Fans last saw Eleven as she vanished with the demogorgan in the final episode of the first season. However, it’s implied that she survived, as Hopper finds a box of Eggo waffles on the roadside, which was Eleven’s favorite food.
Not much is known about the second season of Stranger Things, except that the season will have nine episodes and will take place about a year after Will Byers’ disappearance. The new season will be looking into the mystery surrounding Will’s disappearance.
Stranger Things was Netflix’s big breakout hit of the summer, with critics praising the casting and all the different homages to the popular culture of the 1980s.
Though the show doesn’t premiere until some time in 2017, the Duffer brothers have already released the names of the episodes for season two, though noted that they might change the names of some of the episodes to avoid giving away plot details before the new season is released for streaming on Netflix. Entertainment Weekly published the episode titles, which are “Madmax,” “The Boy Who Came Back to Life,” “The Pumpkin Patch,” “The Palace,” “The Storm,” “The Pollywog,” “The Secret Cabin,” “The Brain” and “The Lost Brother.”
