Cartoon Network will be debuting Mighty Magiswords this month, which will be an expansion of the original animated online series that premiered on CN last year.
The series centers around Prohyas and Vambre, a brother-sister duo who go on crazy, worldwide quests to add to their collection of trusted Magiswords (magical swords). Created by Kyle A. Carrozza, Mighty Magiswords is part of a sphere of more than 400 pieces of original content: interactive shorts, narrative vlogs, digital games, and more. For fans wanting to watch the show and collect their own Magiswords, a mobile app will be launching later this fall.
The series’ premiere episode, titled “The Mystery of Loch Mess,” will follow the warriors as they try to locate missing deliverymen and end up being captured as pets, IndieWire reported. In the second episode, “Squirrelled Domination,” the warriors are sent on a mission by a rare food enthusiast to gather five golden acorns.
“Mighty Magiswords is custom created for the way young audiences consume media today,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network. “This is about how stories can be told in new ways and how a community can play together.”
Guest stars include Weird Al Yankovic, Jack McBrayer, Dave Coulier, Tom Kenny, and more.
The series will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 ET on Cartoon Network.
