According to The Hollywood Reporter, composer Mick Giacchino (The Dirty Black Bag, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell) joins Marvel’s VisionQuest as composer on the series. VisionQuest will be the completion of the Disney+ Marvel trilogy that includes 2021’s WandaVision and also includes 2024’s Agatha All Along.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Giacchino is not new to the world of comic books. He has won Emmys for his work on DC and HBO’s The Penguin after working on additional music for The Batman, scored by his father, Marvel mainstay Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, Werewolf by Night). Giacchino also worked on the score for Disney and Lucasfilm’s The Skeleton Crew, with his work including Disney’s The Muppets Mayhem, AMC+’s That Dirty Black Bag and Disney’s Zootopia+.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, VisionQuest is a 2026 Disney+ Marvel series, developed by showrunner Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, Star Trek: Picard), that follows White Vision after WandaVision as he seeks to understand his identity, memory, and humanity. The series stars James Spader (Boston Legal, Pretty in Pink), reprising his role as Ultron from Avengers: Age of Ultron, the movie that introduced the world to Paul Bettany’s (A Knight’s Tale, A Beautiful Mind) Vision. Bettany has been part of the Marvel franchise for a long time, beginning with voicing Tony Stark’s AI Jarvis in 2008’s Iron Man, before making the jump to live action with Ultron. His last appearance as Vision was in WandaVision, the show that kicked off Marvel Studios’ television output.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Giacchino will preview the main theme for VisionQuest with a full orchestra on May 16 at the Poland’s Kraków FMF International TV Series Gala. The performance is scheduled to draw in 15,000 audience members.
VisionQuest is scheduled to air on Disney+ sometime this year. WandaVision, Agatha All Along and many other Marvel series and films are available on the streamer.
