Michelle Keegan And Douglas Booth Join The Cast Of ITV Series ‘The Blame’

Deadline reports that the ITV drama The Blame has added two new stars to its cast, including Worried About the Boy‘s actor Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, LOL) and Fool Me Once star Michelle Keegan (Our Girl, Brassic).
According to Deadline, Keegan will take on the role of DI Emma Crane with Booth stepping into the shoes of DI Tom Bradley. The six-part series is based on a book of the same title by Charlotte Langley (The Intrusion, The Blame), and the teleplay has been written by Megan Gallagher (Wolf, Suspicion). It is produced by Quay Street Productions, the same company that made Fool Me Once.
Via Deadline, the cast also includes Nigel Boyle (Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders), Joe Armstrong (Gentleman Jack, Black Mirror), Matilda Freeman (How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, Passenger), Gavin Spokes (House of the Dragon, Slow Horses), Josh Bolt (Masters of the Air, Last Tango in Halifax), Ian Hart, Ceallach Spellman (Cheaters, White Lines) and Nathan Mensah in his debut.
According to Deadline, after the body of a teenager l is found, the town of Wakefield is thrown into chaos. Booth and Crane will investigate and discover that there are many layers to this case, including moral ambiguity and establishment hush jobs.
Deadline reports that From Quay Street Productions, an ITV arm, Matt Strevens (Misfits, Lazarus) will serve as series producer, with Sara Huxley (Rose, Trip Hazard) as co-producer. Fifth season is a co-producer and will be charged with international sales. Episodes one through three will be directed by Bex Rycroft (The Crow Girl, Screw), and Claire Taylour (The Wives, Beyond Paradise) will take over for episodes four through six.
According to Deadline, Nicola Shindler (Nolly, It’s A Sin) and Richard Fee (Fool Me Once, Missing You) are the executive producers from Quay Street, with ITV director of Drama Polly Hill (Wolf Hall, Payback) also serving as executive producer. Gallagher developed the series and will be joined by Ashley Sanders (The Berliner(s), Four Nineteen) and Namsi Khan (True Detective, I Came By) as co-writers, with Gallagher maintaining the lead writer role.
Via Deadline, “The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation, and misogyny as the thriller unravels,” Hill said about the series. “Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I’m very proud to have on ITV.
