Michael Imperioli is set to portray the lead character in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot Saint Francis.
According to Deadline, The Sopranos alum will join the project, which comes from Chris Moynihan. Saint Francis hails from ABC Studios and Tagline. It centers on Francis Quinlan (Imperioli), a no-nonsense cop and family man who is at odds with the modern, liberal world when his daughter becomes pregnant out of wedlock.
This will be Imperioli’s return to ABC since starring in Detroit 1-8-7 and Life On Mars. He will have a recurring role on ShowTime’s final season of Californication.
