According to The Hollywood Reporter, the suspense-drama series Bosch: Legacy will conclude with season three, set to debut in March 2025. The announcement was made through an Instagram post by author Michael Connelly (Desert Star, Resurrection Walk), writer of the Bosch novel collection and executive producer for the Bosch: Legacy show.
Bosch: Legacy is the predecessor to the series Bosch, which premiered on Prime Video for seven seasons. Bosch: Legacy is a continuation of protagonist Harry Bosch’s story. Played by Titus Welliver (Nova Vita, Argo), Bosch is a former LAPD homicide detective turned private investigator who navigates the new phase of his career with attorney Honey Chandler and daughter Maddie Bosch, according to mxdwn. Chandler is played by Mimi Rogers (Lost in Space, Austin Powers: International Spy) and Maddie Bosch is played by Madison Lintz (Parental Guidance, The Walking Dead).
Connelly’s September 6 Instagram post read, “I’m happy to announce that the third season of Bosch: Legacy will premiere on Prime [Video] in March. I think it’s our best yet. It will also be the last season, bringing to fitting close a 10 season run with this character, played so well by Titus Welliver. But fear not, we are currently in production on the Renée Ballard show. And if you know anything about my books, then you know you have not seen the last of Harry Bosch!” via The Hollywood Reporter.
Connelly continued, “It’s been an amazing run with this character so far. There’s that over-used phrase ‘It takes a village,’ so I’ll just say, it takes at least a whole town to make a show like this. We’ve had the best people up and down the call sheet. Actors, writers, directors, producers, and all the crew tried to make something special, and they certainly did. I’m very proud of what we did” via the Instagram post.
While Bosch: Legacy will end with season three, there is a spin-off series in production that will focus on the character Renée Ballard via mxdwn. The series is set to debut in Fall 2025 with Maggie Q (Divergent, Priest) starring as Ballard, per The Hollywood Reporter.
