Melanie Griffith Cast in Hawaii Five-0

Melanie Griffith is headed to Hawaii. She will be playing the mother of Jersey-bred Detective Danny Williams.

Griffith recently made appearances on Raising Hope and Hot in Cleveland.  So far, her character has presumably been sitting idle in New Jersey.  It appears now that she is leaving to mainland to visit her son, Danny (Scott Caan), and granddaughter Grace (Teilor Grubbs) in the upcoming fourth season, according to Huffington Post.  This isn’t out first view of Danno’s family.  Dane Cook guest starred as Danny’s brother in an episode back in 2011.  Danny also received a visit from his nephew (Andrew Lawrence) in the third season.

CBS tweeted on their official twitter page: “CASTING NEWS: @MelanieGriffith to play role of Danny’s mom on #H50 this upcoming season!”

Griffith isn’t going to be the only big guest star next season.  It’s practically a Lost reunion on Hawaii Five-0.  Not only are some of Daniel Dae Kim’s former co-stars from Lost making an appearance, but so is pop star Nick Jonas.

Hawaii Five-0 returns on Friday, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
