MCU fans are getting their first look at the Time Variance Authority’s (TVA) cartoon clock, Miss Minutes, in Loki. In brand new TV Spot, Tom Hiddleston’s (Avengers: Endgame) Loki meets Miss Minutes, as she welcomes him to the TVA and explains how he will be tried for his role in fracturing the existing timelines.
Miss Minutes serves as the TVA’s cartoon mascot, and is a new addition to the MCU rather than being based on existing material from the comics. While she seems to serve a clear and simple purpose in the clip – providing prompt to variants as they make their way through the agency – some are wondering if there is more to her character. The cartoon clock is featured prominently on the Loki poster, leading many to think she will gain an increased level of importance over the course of the six-episode series, via Screen Rant.
Taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki will follow its titular star after he is captured by the TVA for stealing the Tesseract from the Battle of New York in 2012. Loki is then enlisted by Owen Wilson’s (Night at the Museum) Agent Mobius to fix the timelines that have branched off from the main timeline after Loki’s escape. While Miss Minutes does not exist within the comics, the TVA is featured in the source material as it maintains the multiple timelines within the Marvel transmedia universe.
Loki will begin streaming on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 9, with new episodes landing on the streaming platform each week. It is not currently known whether Loki will be single season series, much like previous Marvel Disney+ show WandaVision, or if it will go on to be a multi-season show. Watch the new TV Spot below.
