In the wake of his snowplow mishap, Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye, The Bourne Legacy) is trying not to get too ahead of himself as he returns to the filming for his role in Mayor of Kingstown. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Renner mentions to People , “I don’t know if I’m looking forward to it,” and further says “I try to just do everything kind of step by step here. That’s one foot in front of the other. Then you’re walking.”
Renner had suffered blunt-force trauma and orthopedic injuries during a snowplow accident in Reno, Nevada on the first of January of 2023.
In the Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Wind River) drama, Renner plays Mike McLusky. The story revolves around a family that maintains order in a made-up Michigan town that is home to cops, guards, street gangs, and prisoners.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Just over a year after suffering serious injuries from being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his house, he resumed filming on January tenth of this year. The actor said that his rib cage was replaced with metal, along with titanium rods in one leg and plates in his face to support his eye sockets, after suffering thirty broken bones. He has been transparent on social media about his journey to recovery throughout the process.
The Avengers actor talks about his mixed feelings of getting back into filming, “I think I’m excited when I’m there and I get in a rhythm there,” and he adds, “I’m excited about the character and, of course, all the people involved and all that in the storyline, but for me, I’m just tentative of confidence in work.”
A few weeks ago, Renner wrote on social media about his first day on set, describing himself as “nervous” and hoping that “this works out that I can ACTUALLY pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans.”

After a few weeks, Renner claims the show is “arduous,” frequently requiring long days “in the freezing cold outside in Pittsburgh.” The actor expressed his excitement at returning, but added that he is “scared of slipping and falling” because he hasn’t fully regained his lower body strength.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Renner comments to CNN in December that he would be “doing my best” when he got back to the set. “This year has been incredibly amazing and hectic, and I believe I’m ready. I think I’m strong enough.”
