Max’s ‘Girls On The Bus’ Premiere Update Is Announced

The Girls on the Bus, Max’s series, has announced an updated premiere date, ComicBook reports. The series will now premiere on the streamer in March. The official date has not been announced as of yet. The series stars Supergirl alum Melissa Benoist (The Flash, Whiplash, Arrow), and it’s based on a chapter in the book Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling, written by Amy Chozick (Chasing Hillary: On the Trail of the First Woman President Who Wasn’t) in 2018, which has shown how the book’s author was able to report the entire presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton in 2016.

According to Comicbook, the series focuses on the stories of four women political journalists, as they follow the presidential campaigns across the country, but at the same time they fight for love, friendship…and get involved in some scandals of sorts.

Benoist plays the main character named Sadie McCarthy. The actress, via ComicBook, explained how her character is portrayed. She stated that her character is “a journalist who romanticizes the original Boys on the Bus and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors. Despite the differences, these women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House.”

Other main stars include Natasha Behnam (Mayans, Camp Friends, and Crazy Ex Girlfriend), Scott Foley (Felicity, Whiskey Cavalier, Scandal), Carla Gugino (Spy Kids, Gerald’s Game, San Andreas), Christina Elmore (Insecure, Twenties, The Last Ship), Tala Ashe (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, American Odyssey, Crisis on Earth-X), Griffin Dunne (After Hours, My Girl, Who’s That Girl?), and Mark Consuelos (Riverdale, Hope & Faith, Queen of the South). The executive producers are Rina Mimoun, who is also the showrunner; Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, Legacies), Chozick, Sarah Schechter (Project Artemis, Unpregnant, Moonshot)and Greg Berlanti.)

Girls On the Bus will be premiering in March on Max.
