Deadline has reported that Max has renewed adult-animated series Harley Quinn for season five. Harley Quinn first debuted on DC Universe on November 29, 2019. The second season of the series was also released on DC Universe, with the third releasing on Max on July 28, 2022.
Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory, The Flight Attendant) as Harley Quinn, Lake Bell (It’s Complicated, What Happens in Vegas) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Resident Alien) as Clayface, Matt Oberg (The Bourne Legacy, The Real O’Neals) as Killer Croc, James Adomian (Close Enough, Cat Burglar) as Bane, Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep) as Dr. Psycho, Ron Funches (Trolls, Loot) as King Shark, and Christopher Meloni (True Blood, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as James Gordon.
“The talented Harley Quinn team has once again succeeded in delivering a season that builds on everything that has come before while still feeling fresh and inventive,” said Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, Max and Adult Swim, Suzanna Makkos, according to Deadline. “They continue to provide hilarious, heartwarming, and deranged stories with our lovable group of DC misfits, and we couldn’t be more excited for the fans to see what they’ve accomplished in season 5.”
“Harley Quinn has raised the comedic crowbar with every new season,” said Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation, Peter Girardi, also according to Deadline. “We’re excited to continue this partnership with Max and take our biggest swing yet for season 5.”
“We”re thrilled that the news of Harley and Ivy’s continuing misadventures is finally out and we can stop telling people in secret. We must have handed out at least three thousand NDAs by now. It was a big waste of paper,” executive producers Justin Halper (Abbott Elementary, iZombie), Patrick Schumacker (Cougar Town, Surviving Jack), and Dean Lorey (Arrested Development, Powerless) told Deadline.
Max has also recently revealed that there will be a new Harley Quinn animated spin-off, Kite Man: Hell Yeah! in 2024.
