The comedy-drama series The Sex Lives Of College Girls returns to Max for season three November 21st, following four roommates navigating their personal and academic lives at a prestigious university.
The Sex Lives of College Girls explores the four roommates’ friendships, romantic adventures and struggles with a blend of humor and some poignant moments.
The series features an impressive ensemble: Pauline Chalamet (The King of Staten Island, The French Dispatch) as Kimberly, Amrit Kaur (Kim’s Convenience, The D Cut) as Bela, Reneé Rapp (Mean Girls 2, Broadway Profiles with Tamsen Fadal TV) as Leighton and Alyah Chanelle Scott (The Book of Mormon, Reboot) as Whitney. This cast brings a wealth of talent and experience to the show, making it a must-watch.
The streamer disclosed in a TVLine article on Wednesday that season three would debut on Thursday, November 21, with fresh episodes airing every week until January 23. Interestingly, this season’s episodes will air at 9/8c every week, which is the same time as the previous two seasons.
According to TVLine, in the third season, Bela, unsurprisingly, is particularly keen on getting together with the guy behind Essex’s mascot, Franklin the Fox. Additionally, there are several glimpses of Rapp’s Leighton, who, as previously reported, will allegedly leave the series after a few appearances in season three.
The article by TVLine highlighted an X (formerly Twitter) post from Rapp’s page, available to read below. The audience may know Rapp as a musical artist. She is one of many talents on the show and graced viewers’ screens with her presence.
“College Girls moved me out to LA and introduced me to some of my favorite people. Two and a half years later — it’s given me y’all and this community,” Rapp wrote in an X post when her departure was announced. “A lot of queer work gets belittled — but playing Leighton has changed my life. I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her. I hope she gave y’all a little bit of that too.”
One notable aspect that the trailer overlooks is the significant development from the last Season two finale. Kimberly’s kiss with Whitney’s ex-boyfriend, Canaan—a moment that Whitney witnessed firsthand.
“I don’t have a lot of interest in putting more [girl-on-girl cattiness] out into the world. It also doesn’t ever feel true to me when I see it,” showrunner Justin Noble (Never Have I Ever, Brooklyn Nine Nine) previously told TVLine. “But the fact that [Kimberly] feels the need to lie to Whitney about it the next morning shows that Kimberly knows this was a bit of a move, and perhaps there’s some drama between them on the horizon.”
While some original cast members depart in season three of The Sex Lives of College Girls, the show welcomes a new wave of talented actors and actresses. Rebecca Wisocky (Ghosts, Devious Maids) joins as an Essex College professor, alongside Gracie Lawrence (Billions, The Good Wife), Mia Rodgers (Trauma, The Resident), Nabeel Muscatwalla (Good Trouble, NCIS: Los Angeles), Devin Craig (Queen Sugar, The Chi), Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown, Castle Rock), Michael Provost (Insatiable, #RealityHigh) and Roby Attal (Partner Track, Red 11) as the newest Essex students
Season three is set to premiere on November 21, with new episodes airing weekly. This season will introduce new characters portrayed by Wisocky, Lawrence and others.
