Max Lets Dragons Loose In NYC In A New Promotional Stunt For ‘House Of The Dragon’

Dragons are loose in New York City! According to a a Warner Bros. Discovery media release, HBO has rolled out their newest marketing campaign titled “Raise Your Banners” in anticipation of the new season of the returning series House Of The Dragon. The campaign includes a massive green dragon that is wrapped around the top of the Empire State Building.

The campaign also included brands, large corporations, local businesses, institutions and sports teams taking sides and showing their loyalty towards Team Green or Team Black, which would then be finalized on the top of the Empire State Building, bringing the competition and campaign to an end. On June 16, Max revealed that Team Green had officially taken over the Empire State Building. The massive replica of Vhagar the Dragon is displayed for all of New York to see. The 132-foot true-to-size dragon is anchored to the building, and the top of it will glow green for a limited time. 

Zach Enterlin, the Executive Vice President of Brand, Content & Creative and Streaming Marketing, commented on how this would not only be for U.S. fans but also big enough for international fans to enjoy. He also expressed how great it was to see brands and businesses worldwide get into the competition.

As per  the media release, Enterlin said, “As we head into the second season of HBO’s award-winning series, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, we want to give fans all over the world — the very people whose passion has made this series a success — the opportunity to dive deep into the world of Westeros,” he said. “As iconic institutions, sports teams, brands, and local businesses pledge their allegiance to either Team Green or Team Black, we remind fans of the looming battle in Westeros, and call on them to choose a side and raise their banners as the season unfolds.”

House of the Dragon is streaming on Max starting June 16.
