Max has launched updates to their platform today which include a new Extra Member feature. With this new add on from Max, current subscribers will now have more flexibility and control over account sharing. The new feature will also include the option to transfer adult profiles to the new extra member account. The extra member feature promises a simple transition with the new add on, so members can continue binging their favorite shows without interruptions. In an article via The Hollywood Reporter, which mentions Netflix being the first to crackdown on password sharing two years ago, compares Max’ prices with Netflix, citing the platform’s price for an extra member is $6.99 with ads, and $8.99 for the extra member to have an ad free experience.
Max’s new advancements will aid viewers in enjoying the platform in a new and conventional way. CEO and President JB Perrette spoke highly of the addition, promising simplicity in its creation.
“Extra Member Add-On and Profile Transfer are two key Max advancements, designed to help viewers with a new way to enjoy our best-in-class content at an exceptional value, and offer subscribers greater flexibility in managing their accounts.” Perrette continued, “These updates provide a simple way for subscribers to add on a new member to their account, or for existing subscribers who have users outside of their household to smoothly, and in an uninterrupted fashion, transition their profile so that extra member can continue to access Max.”
The extra member feature will cost an additional $7.99/month, and will remain the same in each subscription tier. To purchase this option for your Max account, it can be done directly through Max’s subscription settings. From there, once purchased, the account owner can invite their extra member through mobile or the web. However, this new feature is only limited to one add-on per account. With profile transfer, subscribers are able to “bring over” their current watch history or recommendations. This will also allow the member to even transfer the settings associated with that account.
With Max’s enormous library of binge-worthy tv shows and movies, leading brands and series such as The Last of Us and HBO originals like The White Lotus will be easier to watch than ever. The platform hopes to create a new and more personalized experience for its users, as well as drawing more interested people to its platform.
