Max has been adding new series to this year’s catalog. An important example is The Penguin, which has broken many records lately. Here comes another medical drama that will most likely break records. HBO announced on Thursday morning the release date for its upcoming series The Pitt, which is Jan. 9, 2025, the press release reports.
According to the press release, the series will feature 15 episodes, which will be releasing two episodes each Thursday. The season finale will be on Apr. 10. The series will star Noah Wyle (ER, Falling Skies) as the character of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, chief attendant of the hospital. According to the press release, the series’ recurring characters are Dr. Collins, portrayed by Tracey Ifeachor (Showtrial, Treason), Dr. Langdon, portrayed by Patrick Ball (Law And Order), Dr. Mohan, portrayed by Supriya Ganesh (Billions, Grown-ish), Dr. McKay, portrayed by Fiona Dourif (Shameless, The Blacklist), Dr. King, portrayed by Taylor Dearden (Breaking Bad, Sweet/Vicious), Dr. Santos, portrayed by Isa Briones (Goosebumps, Star Trek: Picard), Whitaker, portrayed by Gerran Howell (1917, Catch-22), Javadi, portrayed by Shabana Azeez (The Hunting, The Letdown) and Dana Evans, portrayed by Katherine LaNasa (The Campaign, Valentine’s Day).
The press release states that “The Pitt is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where JWP is under an overall deal. R. Scott Gemmill (NCIS: Los Angeles, ER) will write the first episode and executive produce the series alongside Wyle, Emmy® winner John Wells (Animal Kingdom, Shameless, The West Wing, ER) and JWP’s Erin Jontow (Emperor Of Ocean Park, Rescue: HI-Surf, Maid), Simran Baidwan (Manifest, Ordinary Joe, The Good Doctor, Chicago Med), and Michael Hissrich (Shameless, The West Wing, Third Watch)”.
