Scott Pilgrim vs. The World star Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be joining Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) and Hayden Christensen (Jumper) in the Star Wars series, Ahsoka, via The Hollywood Reporter.
Winstead will be joining Ivanna Sakhno (Let It Snow) and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) in the series’ cast.
Ahsoka sees Rosario Dawson reprising the role after debuting as the character in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader. Christensen will also be reprising the role in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
Ahsoka will focus on the Jedi Purge survivor after the events of her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. Fans were introduced to the character on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and later appeared on Star Wars Rebels. She has become a popular character since then. When the series was announced back in December 2020, it was confirmed that Ahsoka will be a part of a larger story which includes the third season of The Mandalorian and the now-canceled Rangers of the New Republic.
Plot details for the series are being kept under wraps and The Hollywood Reporter could not confirm who Winstead would be playing. She was last seen in the Netflix revenge thriller, Kate, and starred as the Huntress in the 2020 Birds of Prey film. She is also known for appearing on Death Proof, Gemini Man, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Ahsoka is one of many Star Wars projects coming to Disney+. A third season of The Mandalorian is currently in production, The Acolyte will begin production in the summer with Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) leading the series, and series focused on Lando Calrissian is in development.
