The Marvel Cinematic Universe is kicking off 2026 with a wave of projects to bring life to the tv screen. According to Screenrant, the MCU has just debuted its latest Disney+ series, Wonder Man,which earned an outstanding 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes a week ahead of its release before Phase Six is even over. If the series will be able to keep the score it will be among the most well rated shows which includes WandaVision (92%), Loki season one (92%), and Hawkeye (92%) with the highest rated being Ms. Marvel with a near perfect score of 98.
Reported by Screenrant, the plot of the series will focus on the journey of Simon Williams, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Candyman, Us), a struggling actor that obtains superpowers from a lab accident and now must try to balance his new acquire powers while maintaining a normal lifestyle. He will making an alliance with Trevor Slattery, played by Ben Kingsley (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Thursday Murder Club), who will serve as a mentor figure to Williams.
In one of Screenrant’s reviews, actor Ben Gibbons (A Little Game, Missing) states and praises on the direction the show takes ,”sets out to prove that just because a story is set in a world where superpowers exist, it doesn’t make it any less impactful. And it succeeds.” Furthermore, Gibbons goes into greater detail ,”this is a drama with comedy and action spliced in, digging into the mind of a man who is fighting hard to achieve his dreams.” Unlike it the past, Wonder Man is being praised for its groundbreaking commentary on the entertainment industry itself.
This critical success marks as win for the Marvel, and that a well driven character narrative and storytelling is just effective in drawing viewers. Wonder-Man is scheduled to makes it debut on January 27, 2026 and will be available to stream on Disney+
