Fans of Marvel took to social media last week to express their displeasure at the absence of the previously announced Armor Wars series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s timeline of release dates, which were shown and announced during Marvel Studios’ group of panels at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 on Saturday. The show was first announced in December 2020 during Disney Investor Day, per IGN.

Shortly after Marvel made all of their announcements at Comic-Con that did not include an Armor Wars release date, the show’s head writer, Yassir Lester (Making History), took to Instagram to ease fans’ minds and said that the show will still be coming out, though he did not provide any additional information regarding the series.

Armor Wars is expected to star Don Cheadle (House Of Lies) as his Marvel character, War Machine. While no information was given about that specific show, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Cheadle’s character would appear in the upcoming series Secret Invasion, which will be the first television series of the MCU’s phase five.
While it remains unclear when Armor Wars will be released, Marvel Studios made a large amount of television series announcements at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that will release over the next few years as a part of phase five including Secret Invasion, season two of Loki, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again.
