According to Variety, the Disney+ spinoff of WandaVision will have more of a scare factor. Brad Winderbaum (Thor: Ragnarok Ant-Man), Marvel Studios‘ head of streaming, television and animation stated that the Agatha All Along series will be “really scary.” Winderbaum appeared on the Official Marvel Podcast and shared how viewers will enjoy the series until they start getting scared as well as sharing news on other Marvel projects.
“‘Agatha’ is really fun, but it’s really scary. And it gets quite dramatic,” Winderbaum teased. “She’s an amazing anti-hero. It lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.”
“It’s a Marvel brand of scary. It’s a Halloween show,” he added. “There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one.
The full-length interview with Winderbaum is down below.
As per Variety, Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ on September 18, and Kathryn Hahn (Afternoon Delight, Tiny Beautiful Thing) will lead the series. Hahn is reprising her role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision. The plot for the series is still under wraps, but now viewers know that it will have a scary factor compared to other Marvel series and films.
Winderbaum also spoke about other Marvel series that are scheduled to premiere, such as Daredevil: Born Again, which starts the return of Charlie Cox (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo) as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
“These characters have matured. The universe is different than it was,” Winderbaum explained. “Things have changed. Society has changed. Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk have changed, and their characters are going to collide in ways we’ve never seen before. It’s no longer enough to try to murder each other. There’s a whole game of politics at play.”
All Marvel films and series are available to stream on Disney+.
