An exciting update has been revealed by Marvel’s Executive, Brad Winderbaum (Thor Ragnarok) about the development for a ponteial second season to Hawkeye. According to Screenrant, the miniseries has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide as it follows the mentor-student journey between Clint, played by Jeremy Renner (Avengers), and Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect). The series ended with Clint telling Yelena, played by Florence Pugh (Thunderbolt), the truth behind Natasha’s death, the defeat of Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), and the arrest of Kate’s mother, Elenor, played by Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring).
According to Screenrant, another factor of the series that made it unique is the wonderful blends of the holiday atmosphere combined with the eye-catching lightning sequence that has kept viewers on the edge of their seats.
Brad goes on top give an update in an interview with Screenrant,“Hawkeye is another one that feels like you can make a second season of that show because it’s Christmas, because it’s Clint and Kate. You can kind of revisit it whenever, and we’re looking for opportunities to do that. But as we develop things for the future, I think they’re going to be designed to be multiple seasons, have more of a pattern, and be able to be released annually.”
According to Screenrant, should a second season be released, it may highlight Kate’s transformation as the new Hawkeye as well as the new foes and friends she and Bart meet. This could also further aid in connecting and transitioning into future projects within the Marvel franchise.
Although the Marvel executive’s comments are not a formal announcement, they provide a tantalizing glimpse into the studio’s plans. Whilst waiting on further news on the second season to arise, the entire first season of Hawkeye, as well as all other programs within the franchise, are available to stream on Disney+.
