According to Deadline, Mark Feuerstein (Power, Royal Pains) has reportedly landed recurring role in Courtney A. Kemp (The Good Wife, Power) and Tani Marole’s (Nemesis) new Netflix series Nemesis. Feuerstein is the second star from Kemp’s Power franchise to be cast in Nemesis, following Shane Johnson’s (Them, Chicago P.D.) casting in April.
Feuerstein will reportedly be playing a ruthless, high-profile attorney named Sam Marrow, who is willing to go to extremes for his clients. Marrow is not too dissimilar to Feuerstein’s character, Steven Ott, from the Power franchise, according to Deadline.
Nemesis tells the story of two men on opposite sides of the law, one an expert criminal named Coltrane Wilder, played by Y’lan Noel (Insecure, The First Purge), the other a genius police detective named Isaiah Stiles, played by Matthew Law (Ahsoka, Abbott Elementary). Nemesis, according to Deadline, is a subversion of the heist genre full of action, high stakes, and family dilemmas that ultimately give way to a poignant exploration of the human condition.
Deadline reports that Noel, Law, Johnson, and Feuerstein are joined by Cleopatra Coleman (Infinity Pool, The Last Man on Earth), Tre Hale (Welcome to Flatch, Upload), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire), Jonnie Park (The Rookie, NCIS: Los Angeles), Ariana Guerra (Five Feet Apart, Dumplin’), Gabrielle Dennis (Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming, The Bobby Brown Story), Michael Potts (The Wire, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Sophina Brown (Shark, Numbers), Jeff Pierre (Walker, Once Upon a Time) and Cedric Joe (Space Jam: A New Legacy, Women of the Movement).
Moe Irvin (Grey’s Anatomy, The Human Quality), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre, Miss Bala), Quincy Isaiah (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Good Lord Bird), Jay Reeves (Safety, All American), Mike O’Malley (Glee, Yes, Dear), Khalilah Joi (How to Get Away with Murder, Black Lightning) and Siua Ikale’o (NCIS: Hawai’i, Magnum P.I.), will take on recurring roles, according to Deadline.
Nemesis marks Kemp’s first project with Netflix and Deadline reports that she will act as showrunner as well as executive producer along with Marole, Chris Selak (Power Book II: Ghost, Rude Awakening), Philipp Barnett (Euphoria, Griselda), and Mario Van Peebles (Heartbreak Ridge, Panther) who will also direct episodes one and two.
According to IMDb, the first season of Nemesis will reportedly feature eight episodes available to stream on Netflix. No official release date is in place as of yet.
