Marisa Tomei is officially joining the cast of Empire for season two.
Tomei is an Oscar winner who will be joining the Fox family on its hit, Empire. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will play a demanding venture capitalist named Mimi Whiteman. Her character is a Forbes list billionaire who loves hip-hop and becomes involved with the Lyon family.
The list of guest stars continues to grow on the show with not only Tomei, but also Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Adam Rodriguez. Shooting for season two began in june.
Her performance in My Cousin Vinny won her an Oscar. Tomei’s recent credits include Parental Guidance and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Tomei is represented by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.
Season two of Empire premieres on Fox on September 23 at 9 p.m.
