Many famous Fox titles such as The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy will be staying on Hulu for the next four years; that is because Fox Entertainment and Disney have renewed the streaming deal for the United States, Comicbook.com reports. The news originally comes from a Variety article released on Thursday morning. The exact financial details of this deal have not yet been revealed, but, surely, these titles will be streamed on the platforms for a very long time.
According to Comicbook.com, in the previous deal, Fox Entertainment’s new episodes of each of the titles were going to be available on Hulu the day after their release on cable. Seems like it will be the same process in this new deal, and this will keep helping with the viewing numbers of Fox since they don’t have a personal streaming service, as Disney has with its own Disney+.
According to Comicbook.com, Hulu has rights to the following Fox titles: The Simpsons (its previous seasons only available to stream on Disney+), Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Krapopolis, and the newest animated series The Great North and Universal Basic Guys. The live-action shows available are The Masked Singer, The Floor, Gordon Ramsay’s Next Level Chef, Rescue: Hi-Surf, and many others. Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade (Dancing with the Stars, The X Factor) shared a statement regarding the renewal of this deal, by saying, “Our friends at Hulu and Disney Entertainment are exceptional partners, together driving ongoing mutual growth and strong results…Through our new agreement, we look forward to expanding on this impressive track record and collaboratively shaping the future of television in today’s shifting media landscape.”
Hulu general manager Lauren Tempest (Schitt’s Creek, The Bear) has added her statement, as she stated, via Comicbook.com: “The long-standing, valued partnership we have with Fox has cemented Hulu as the next-day streaming home for current Fox hits and out-of-season episodes of key Fox titles, and we’re excited to continue offering these scripted, unscripted and animated series to our subscribers. Our collective marketing efforts, which will continue with this new deal, have generated impressive results and helped viewers successfully find the shows they want to watch when they want to watch them.”
