Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) will join Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) and Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) in Hulu’s original limited series Nine Perfect Strangers, via Deadline. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies); set in a health-and-wellness resort that focuses on healing, Nine Perfect Strangers surrounds 9 overly-stressed people with little in common as they attempt to rejuvenate their physical and mental states. Kidman will play Masha, the resort’s director, while Jacinto will play Yao, Masha’s partner in her self-improvement resort.
Jacinto just wrapped up his 4 season run at The Good Place, where he starred as a part of the main cast alongside Kristen Bell (Frozen), Jameela Jamil (The Misery Index), Ted Danson (Cheers), and William Jackson Harper (Midsommar). The show consisted of 4 strangers’ journey through the afterlife to get to the titular destination.
Bruna Papandrea (Big Little Lies), Steve Hutensky (Limitless), Casey Haver (Tell me your Secrets), Kidman, and McCarthy will executive produce Nine Perfect Strangers alongside Moriarty, David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies), and John Henry Butterworth (Fair Game).
It is expected that the series will debut on Hulu in 2021 due to the industry-wide COVID-19 shutdown.
