Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) is back and she’s out for blood. HBO Max released a trailer for its upcoming limited series Two Weeks to Live starring Williams as a young woman out to avenge her father’s death. In her first starring role in television since Game of Thrones, Williams will be tapping back into warrior mode once more via Entertainment Weekly.
Williams burst onto the scene in 2011 playing the assassin in the making Arya Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones. For her performance, she was nominated at the 2019 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series. Throughout Game of Thrones, Arya goes on an epic journey attempting to seek revenge on the people who helped murder her father. In the trailer for Two Weeks to Live, it seems to be telling a similar story with Williams at its center.
The upcoming British limited series will see Williams as misfit Kim Noakes. After running away from her suffocating mother who is portrayed by Sian Clifford (Fleabag), Kim goes on a mission cross country tracking down the man who killed her father years ago. She’s on a path of bloody redemption, seeking answers and closure. Along the way, she runs into some roadblocks when she meets two brothers, Jay and Nicky. Portrayed by Taheen Modak (Ruthless) and Mawaan Rizwan (The Break), they get brought along for the crazy and blood spattered ride as Kim tracks down her father’s killers.
Already airing on Sky in the U.K., Two Weeks to Live will come to HBO Max on November 5. It’s a dark comedy, with the trailer being jam packed with fighting, fast cars, and twisted humor. It was created by Gaby Hull (We Hunt Together), and is executive produced by Charlotte Surtees (Code 404). The series consists of six episodes in total.
