Deadline reports that famed actor Macaulay Culkin (Dollface, Half in the Bag) has joined the season two cast of Fallout, Prime Video‘s breakout series from Kilter Films, in a recurring role. Details are being kept under wraps, but Culkin is said to be playing a “crazy genius”-type character.
Fallout is based on the popular video game series from Bethesda Game Studios. Set two hundred years after an apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an “incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent” universe waiting for them.
The series stars Ella Purnell (Sweetpea, Yellowjackets) as Lucy, Aaron Moten (Next, Disjointed) as Maximus, and Walton Goggins (Invincible, I’m A Virgo) as the Ghoul. The cast also includes Kyle MacLachlan (Futurama, Young Jedi Adventures), Moisés Arias (The Good Doctor, The Middle), Sarita Choudhury (Ramy, And Just Like That…), Michael Emerson (Evil, My Adventures with Superman), Leslie Uggams (My Dad the Bounty Hunter, Extrapolations) and Frances Turner (The Boys, New Amsterdam).
Fallout debuted as one of Prime Video’s top three most-watched titles and earned sixteen Emmy nominations for its first season, including for Outstanding Drama Series. The series is a co-production of Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Jonathan Nolan (Westworld, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (The Peripheral, Burn Notice) serve as executive producers alongside Athena Wickham (Believe, Revolution) and James Altman (Super Troopers 2).
Culkin is already in business with Amazon. He recently lent his voice to Prime Video’s animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. He also had a major role as Mickey on FX’s American Horror Story: Double Feature and did an arc as Harmon Freeman on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. He is represented by Brookside Artist Management and Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo.
