‘Lucifer’ Drops Final Season’s Trailer as Release Date Nears

Lucifer has been one of the greatest comeback stories of the last decade. After stalling out in three seasons and being cancelled by Fox, the half-superhero, half-fantasy show found a welcoming home at Netflix. It will be sad to say goodbye to the Devil as the show releases the first trailer for the final season this fall via Deadline.

Although fans got to see Tom Ellis (Rush) grace the screen as Lucifer Morningstar just a few months back in May, it is hard to get enough of the great acting performance. In the new trailer, the snazzy, flashy Lucifer is back and better than ever. As he gets ready to make his ascension to take over as God of the new world, chaos ensues, and a new villain, played by Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool), comes to stop Lucifer. The trailer also confirmed the returns of Lauren German’s (Chicago Fire) Detective Chloe Decker and D.B Woodside’s (Suits) Amenadiel.

The show is also changing locations as Lucifer and his crew are heading below the border. The South American country of Colombia will be a perfect place for the titular character to let loose with his lifestyle. The trailer gave glimpses of some exciting parties, spontaneous dance numbers with drag queens, and a crazy animated realm where Lucifer and Chloe end up.

The series has had a bit of a renaissance on Netflix as ratings and reviews have been bolstered since the move. The show, which takes most of its material from the comic book series, The Sandman, is going out on a high note which is amazing considering their cancellation just three years ago.

Stay tuned for more information as Lucifer’s release date of September 12th nears. In the meantime, you can enjoy all the excitement of the upcoming season in the trailer here.
