The Bad Batch is ready for their final mission. According to Deadline, Lucasfilm announced during the Star Wars Celebration in London that the animated show The Bad Batch will be renewed for a new season, the show’s third and last season. The final season will premiere sometime in 2024.
The panel for Bad Batch also included a teaser for the third season. Unfortunately, only the fans in the room got to watch the teaser and it will not be released on the Internet. According to Deadline and StarWars.com, the teaser began with the Emperor visiting Dr. Royce Hemlock, the leader of the Empire’s cloning efforts, on Mount Tantiss. The Emperor then states, “It is imperative that this facility remains secure.” The teaser then goes on to show the remaining members of the Bad Batch as they address what happened at the of the second season. The teaser has glimpses of clones, former Captain Rex, Republic commandos, and the bounty hunter Fennec Shand.
The voice cast of the show includes Dee Bradley Baker (Phineas and Ferb, American Dad!) voicing the members of the Bad Batch, Rex, and all the other clones; Michelle Ang (Destination Love, Vegas) voices Omega, the young female clone; Rhea Perlman (Cheers, You People) voices Cid, the bar owner who has helped the Bad Batch; Wanda Sykes (The Upshaws, Vampirina) who voices Phee Genoa, a friend of Cid’s; Jimmi Simpson (Star Trek: Prodigy, A little White Lie) as Dr. Royce Hemlock, an Imperial officer in charge of the Empire’s cloning efforts; Ian McDiarmid (Britannia, The Lost City of Z) is reprising his role as Emperor Palpatine; and Ming-Na Wen (Mulan, Agents of SHIELD) is also back voicing bounty hunter Fennec Shand.
The Bad Batch follows Clone Force 99, a group of clones with different abilities than the average clones. Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Wrecker, and Echo worked on special missions for the Grand Army of the Republic and were left in the dark when Order 66 occurred. Now running from the Empire, they encounter Omega, the only female clone to have come from Jango Fett’s DNA. The Bad Batch will do anything to protect Omega from the Empire, but with their list of allies running short, they have been forced to do dangerous missions just to live by.
The third and final season of The Bad Batch will premiere in 2024 on Disney+. The two previous seasons and their storyline on The Clone Wars TV series are also available on Disney+.
