‘Love & Death’ New Official Trailer Transforms Elizabeth Olsen Into Candy Montgomery

According to Variety, after her role as the Scarlet Witch in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well as many other Marvel productions,  Elizabeth Olsen (Sorry for Your Loss) will be starring as Candy Montgomery in Love and Death on HBO Max. Montgomery was infamously known for being accused of an axe murder in 1980 and then later being acquitted. HBO Max has recently released the first trailer for the limited series on their official YouTube channel.

According to Variety, the series is created by David E. Kelley (Big Sky) and will tell the story of Candy Montgomery, Pat Montgomery, Betty Gore, and Allan Gore.  A story of two church-going couples from Texas enjoying their small-town lives until an affair creates a horrific incident.

Based on a real-life case, Candace ‘’Candy’’ Lynn Montgomery, a Texan housewife, was charged in 1980 for the death of her neighbor and friend Betty Gore, according to Variety. Montgomery was having an affair with Allan Gore, the husband of Betty Gore. On June 13, 1980, Gore was found dead in her home while Allan was out of town and the cause of death was 41 axe wounds. Montgomery was accused of murdering Betty but claimed it was an act of self-defense after Betty learned of the affair. Montgomery underwent a polygraph test and was later acquitted. 

Alongside Olsen, the series will star Olivia Grace Applegate (Euphoria), Jesse Plemons (The Irishman), Fabiola Andujar (Walker), Patrick Fugit (Treadstone), Kira Pozehl (American Crime), Harper Heath (Guardians of Time), Christopher Corson (Reina of the West), and many others. 

The limited series will include seven episodes and will premiere on April 27 with three episodes. New episodes will be released on the streaming platform weekly until May 25.
