

According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed the comedy series Long Story Short for a second season. While the first season hasn’t been released yet, it comes from the creator of the critically acclaimed series BoJack Horseman, Raphael Bob-Waksberg.
The description for the trailer of the first season says, “From the creator of BoJack Horseman, Long Story Short is an animated comedy about one family, over time. Jumping through the years, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises. “
The series will star Nicole Byer (the Simpsons, The Good Place), Abbi Jacobson (Broad city, A League Of Their Own), Angelique Cabral (the perfect Family, Life In Pieces), Max Greenfield (New Girl, What Men Want), Paul Reiser (The Kominsky Method, The Problem With People), Ben Feldmen (Monsters At Work, Superstore), and Lisa Edelstein (The Good Doctor, House). Michaela Dietz (Adventure Time: Distant Lands, Steven Universe) and Dave Franco (Now You See Me, 21 Jump Street) will guest star.
The series is produced by The Torante Company, owned by Michael Eisner. The company also produced BoJack Horseman. The animation studio for both BoJack Horseman and Long Story Short is ShadowMachine.
The writer and showrunner for the series is Bob-Waksberg, who also executive produces. Bob-Waksberg also wrote for each episode of Bojack Horseman. Steven A. Cohen (Commander In Chief, Undone), Corey Campodonico (Robot Chicken, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio), Alex Buckley (The Beekeeper, The Peripheral) and Noel Bright (BoJack Horseman, The Place) also produce. The original art designer and supervising producer for the series is Lisa Hanawalt (Bojack Horseman, The Exquisite Corpse Project).
A new trailer for the series was released today that showcases the family living through the struggles of life and family disagreements throughout their lives. With the trailer, the series was given a premiere date of August 22nd.
