Friends star Lisa Kudrow has booked a reoccurring role on ABC’s hit drama Scandal, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Kudrow will play a politician on the upcoming third season of the Shonda Rhimes show that stars Emmy nominee Kerry Washington. Her role marks her biggest acting commitment since the end of the ten-season run on NBC’s comedy Friends.

Details surrounding her character’s name and political association are being kept under wrap, as is the date of her first episode.

Kudrow’s role reunites her with Emmy-nominated producing partner Dan Bucatinsky. The duo executive produced Web Therapy and TLC’s Who Do You Think You Are?
