With Lindsay Lohan’s appearance on Chelsea Lately, the E! series has experienced its biggest audience of the year.
The Hollywood Reporter explains Lohan’s post-rehab publicity tour and its effect on Monday’s Chelsea Lately, in addition to the inevitable boost for Oprah Winfrey.
Chelsea Handler’s talk show on Monday marked the most-watched episode since October 2012, delivering 890,000 total viewers. The numbers show a forty-two percent increase from the show’s year-to-date average.
In the desirable adult 18-49 demo, Chelsea Lately hit a near high with 578,000 viewers in the key group—a forty-eight percent boost from the year-to-date average.
In the episode, Lohan was pinch hitting for the host, poking fun at herself in addition to other celebs, including One Direction’s Harry Styles, Justin Bieber and Kristen Stewart. The actress also interviewed Orphan Black’s actor Dylan Bruce.
Lohan’s schedule turns a bit more serious. She has alredy taped a sit down with Winfrey for Oprah’s Next Chapter OWN, which airs August 18. The cable network is already plugging it with teasing ads in which the talk icon asks the actress about drug addiction and her status as a cautionary tale for child stars.
