

According to Deadline, Li Jun Li will be joining the cast of HBO’s original series The Last of Us. Li is known for her most recent role in Ryan Coogler’s (Creed, Black Panther) Oscar-winning Sinner. Li will play Mirium, a Seraphite who is Lev and Yara’s mother. She joins Michelle Mao (The Keepers of the 5 Kingdoms, Bridgerton) and Kyriana Kratter (Skeleton Crew, The Healing Garden), who were recently cast as Yara and Lev, respectively.
As per Deadline, The Last of Us is based on Naughty Dog’s award-winning video game with the same name. The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel is hired to smuggle Elliea, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. This small one-time mission becomes a journey that changes both Joel and Ellie.
According to Deadline, the cast of the third season of The Last of Us includes Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, Catherine Called Birdy), Isabela Merced (Peacemaker, Alien: Romulus), Gabriel Luna (Secret Level, Love, Death & Robots), and Jeffrey Wright (Brocken Flowers, Wake Up Dead Man), as well as new members to the cast Clea DuVall (But I’m a Cheerleader, The Faculty) will portray a seraphite, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming, American Carnage) is taking on the role of Manny, following Danny Ramirez’s (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Assassination Nation) departure. Jason Ritter (A Million Little Things, Raising Dion) and Patrick Wilson (The Phantom of the Opera, Watchmen) are recurring as Hanley, a WLF soldier, and Abby’s father, Jerry.
As per Deadline, The Last of Us was co-created by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, Superhero Movie) and the game’s Neil Druckmann (Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Jack and Daxter: The Lost Frontier), with Mazin serving as executive producer/co-showrunner alongside Druckmann in the first two seasons. Li will next be seen opposite Nicolas Cage in live-action series Spider-Noir, set for a May 27 release on Prime Video.
The Last of Us is available to stream on HBO Max.
