Spoiler alert (and reverse spoiler alert?) for the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. Should you have missed the news by now on who met their fate during the episode, keep that lucky streak going and go buy a lottery ticket.
It’s been three days since the devastating blows on The Walking Dead, and while Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz may have accepted their character’s deaths, audiences are still left shaken after the violent outburst. Abraham was a recent addition to the dystopian crew, but Glenn (Steven Yeun) has been the heart of the series since its inception, often bringing in humor and humanity to a show that doesn’t see much of either.
Interestingly, Variety has recently uncovered a leaked clip that dropped right before Sunday’s episode. Instead of Abraham suffering from Negan’s sadistic “eeny, meeny, miny, moe” game, it was Maggie Greene (played by Lauren Cohen) who was chosen instead. The leaked footage shows a heartbroken Glenn, who cries out for his beloved wife (who also happens to be pregnant).
Even Negan’s dialogue remains the same, keeping his satanic character even no matter who he picks. Variety notes that the showrunners filmed numerous death scenes for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) to envision for that same episode. However, AMC had no comment about the leak’s origin or its authenticity.
While it is in very low quality, those curious minds can watch the clip here:
