HBO Max’s hit comedy-drama series Hacks has added Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird), Martha Kelly (Marriage Story), Ming-Na Wen (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Margaret Cho (Fire Island) to their cast for season two in recurring guest star roles, according to Deadline. The details on their characters have not yet been released.
The four actresses have been busy in recent months. Metcalf recently starred in season one of Netflix’s animated comedy, Q-Force; Kelly made multiple appearances in season two of Euphoria; Wen starred in season one of Disney+’s latest Star Wars series, The Book Of Boba Fett; and Cho was just announced this week as a guest star on season two of HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.
Returning to the cast for season two are stars Jean Smart (Garden State) and Hannah Einbinder (North Hollywood) as well as recurring cast members Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Chicago P.D.), Jane Adams (Happiness), Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), Kaitlin Olson (Finding Dory), Paul W. Downs (Broad City), Poppy Liu (Better Call Saul), Rose Abdoo (Good Night, And Good Luck), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty), Megan Stalter (The Megan Stalter Show), Angela E. Gibbs (On My Block), Luenell (Borat), Johnny Sibilly (The Deuce), Joe Mande (Parks And Recreation), Ally Maki (Toy Story 4), and Lorenza Izzo (Knock Knock), according to Deadline.
The show racked up 15 Emmy awards and nominations at the 2021 ceremony. Smart won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress For A Comedy Series for her role as Deborah Vance. The show itself won two awards, Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series.
Hacks is created by Downs, Lucia Aniello (Rough Night), and Jen Statsky (The Good Place).
