Screenwriter Christopher Crowe is adapting 1992 film “Last of the Mohicans” into a limited series on FX. Based on James Fenimore Cooper’s novel published in 1826, the story should be a welcomed addition to the array of historical shows. Shows that are based upon historical non-fiction already on the station include Conquistadors, Paul Giamatti’s Mayflower, and They Marched into Sunlight which is a Vietnamese based project.
Kerry McCluggage, who also helped write Miami Vice and Steve Beck will be alongside Crowe in developing the series. The feature film on which it is based grossed 75 million just in the United States.
