Larry David’s appearance at the TCA press tour Thursday afternoon intended to promote his new movie with Jon Hamm “Clear History” led to talk about a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“I don’t know, I really couldn’t say,” he said when asked if another season was a possibility. “Ask me in six months.”
David’s tendency not to be able to commit to something lends itself to an ambiguous fate of the show. “I’m an indecisive fellow. You should see me in a restaurant.”
With Curb Your Enthusiasm on the menu, fans might have to wait until David’s inspirational appetite kicks in when the waiter of his conscious, passing through the other tables of ideas or shackling commitments, will come back to his table and ask, “Are we having dessert?” It is difficult to pin down whether David will order a ninth season of the comedic à la mode that is Curb Your Enthusiasm, or just never order at all.
