According to Deadline, In the upcoming weeks, a number of well-known faces will be seen wandering the halls of Willard R. Abbott Elementary. ABC is maintaining the momentum following Bradley Cooper‘s (Guardians of The Galaxy, A Star Is Born) unexpected cameo in Sunday’s Abbott Elementary special episode. Cooper is a 2024 Oscar nominee.
Tatyana Ali (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Brothers) , Lana Condor (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele, Get Out), Cree Summer (A Different World, Rugrats), and Karan Soni (7 Days, Deadpool) are all scheduled to appear in a number of upcoming season three episodes as guests or recurring stars.
There are currently no details available regarding how each of these actors will interact with the Abbott teachers, according to Deadline.
However, it won’t take them long to begin playing for audiences. On Wednesday, Summer will make an appearance in her debut episode. Deadline reports for that one, the logline is as follows: “Janine spearheads a pilot program that brings a librarian to Abbott; however, when friction arises with one of the teachers, it strains Janine’s relationships with both parties. Meanwhile, both Melissa and Jacob deal with some big changes at home.”
With guest appearances from Philadelphia Eagles players Jalen Hurts, Brandon Graham, and Jason Kelce, Season three got off to a great start in February. Taraji P. Henson (The Color Purple, Empire), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear, Bottoms), Vince Staples (Dope, White Men Can’t Jump), and Leslie Odom Jr. (Smash, NCIS: Los Angeles) have all made previous guest appearances on the show.
Abbott Elementary is located in a predominantly Black public school in Philadelphia, according to Deadline. The show’s creator, Quinta Brunson (Miracle Workers, Single Parents), portrays Janine Teagues, a positive second-grade teacher who balances her personal life with her mission to better her students’ lives.
Starring with her are Sheryl Lee Ralph (Instant Mom, Moesha), Chris Perfetti (In the Dark, The Surrogate), William Stanford Davis (Cardboard Boxer, Please Stand By), Janelle James (The Final Straw, The Standups), Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris, Let It Shine), and Lisa Ann Walter (The Parent Trap, Bruce Almighty).
