Lady Gaga Has Been Added To The Cast Of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’

During season one of Netflix’s Wednesday, Lady Gaga’s (A Star Is Born, American Horror Story) 2011 hit song “Bloody Mary” went viral on TikTok, and fans of the series were theorizing what it would be like if the hit singer were cast in the series. Well, this seems to have become a reality. A source for Entertainment Weekly reports that Gaga has been cast for the second season of Wednesday.

According to Entertainment Weekly, details about Gaga’s role and what it will entail for the show’s second season storyline, are still under wraps, but it has confirmed that the singer is currently busy for the series in Europe alongside the cast. EW has reached out to the representatives of Gaga and Netflix to comment on the exclusive news, but they have not replied yet.

According to Entertainment Weekly, stars Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones, Top of the Lake), Luis Guzmán (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Narcos), Catherine Zeta-Jones (The Mask of Zoro, The Terminal), and famous original Wednesday Addams actress from 1991, Christina Ricci (Casper, Sleepy Hollow), will also star in the second season of the famous Netflix series.

According to EW, in an interview with Variety, during last year’s edition of the Golden Globes, Jenna Ortega (X, Miller’s Girl) revealed her hopes for Gaga to join the cast of the show’s second season, and even created an entire storyline to pitch to the writers of the show if she was ever cast.

“I’m sure Netflix would love that,” Ortega explained via EW. “I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”

According to Deadline, during the 2023 edition of Netflix’s Tudum event, the Wednesday cast teased more about what’s coming in the second season of the series, explaining that they would love to include more Addams family members. Ortega shared that she “would love to see Cousin Itt,” and the other cast members said they wanted to see the character of Grandmama Addams, who was revealed later on to be played by actress Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Falling for Figaro).

According to DeadlineWednesday’s second season filming has been going on since late April of this year in Ireland. During the promo tour of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega explained, in an interview with Extra, that the first four episodes have been shot.

Wednesday season one is now available to stream on Netflix.
