According to Variety, Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju will play Erik in his own passion project Twin. Erik in turn will play his twin Adam to keep a family from collapse and cover up a crime of passion.
Kristofer Hivju is recently best known for his role as the Wildling hero Tormund Giantsbane who becomes a friend and ally of Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch, and possible future love interest of Brienne of Tarth (who could possibly best him in a fight). You might also recognize Kristofer Hivju from his role as the villain Rhodes in film The Fate of the Furious, which is the eighth and latest installment of The Fast and the Furious franchise and is now in theaters.
Twin is about a surfer bum named Erik who has not seen his successful and hard-working twin Adam in fifteen years. Adam seems to have the perfect life: a solid career, attentive wife, and loving children. So when Erik loses everything he looks to estranged twin Adam for help. However Adam spurns Erik’s request and which leads to a heated conflict, ending with Adam’s accidental death at Erik and his wife Ingrid’s hands. To preserve their lives and freedom, Erik steps into Adam’s shoes and tries to live his twin’s very different, responsibility-filled life. Erik will run the gamut between the spectacular Lofoten and the more traditional family environment in which Adam exists, while also dodging the attention of a suspicious policeman and friend of the deceased Adam.
According to Hollywood.com, Hivju has been working on Twin for over decade with his co-creator and director Kristoffer Metcalf, and is now moving into the production phase. The eight-hour drama-thriller series will be filmed in Hivju’s country of origin: Norway, more specifically in the Lofoten Islands per Variety.
