Six new castmates have joined Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars) and Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons) aboard Netflix’s upcoming limited series The Woman in the House, according to Deadline. The new actors include Mary Holland (Happiest Season), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf, Unfriended), Christina Anthony (mixed-ish), Samsara Yett (The Flight Attendant), Cameron Britton (Mindhunter) and Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Filthy Rich).
Bell leads the series as Anna. According a Netflix press release, “For heartbroken Anna, every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor [Neil, played by Riley] moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?”
Holland is set to play Anna’s best friend, Sloane, a local art gallery owner. Hennig will play “sweet and sexy” Lisa, who Anna doesn’t trust, according to Deadline. Anthony will portray the “no-nonsense” Detective Lane, according to Variety. Britton is set to play Anna’s handyman Buell, Yett will play Neil’s nine-year-old daughter Emma and Aguilar will play Rex, the town womanizer.
Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf, who all worked together on The Nobodies and Mike Tyson Mysteries, created The Woman in the House and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Bell, who previously guest-starred in an episode of The Nobodies, will also executive produce the series, alongside Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Step Brothers), Jessica Elbaum and Brittney Segal for Gloria Sanchez Productions, known for producing films Booksmart and Hustlers, as well as Netflix’s Dead to Me.
Marti Noxon (Sharp Objects, Dietland) will serve as a creative consultant for the series, according to Variety.
