
It would seem that Prime Video is almost ready to unleash the mighty Kratos in there upcoming God of War series. According to Screenrant, training video by none other than Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Army of the Dead), who takes the mantle to be the Ghost of Sparta, and the intense training he has undertake to reach the physique.The video was released on across social platform including Instagram, and has the caption, “3rd week in to weight training again. 2 more months to get to where I need to be. Like ridin a bike! LFG!💪🏽”, with the actor showing the result of his training.
Stated by Screenrant, Bautista back in January 2026 had shown he had slim down with having losing 75 pounds and now in the procress in bulking up. Throughout his career, Bautista’s career journey include many intense roles with such examples being Drax the Destroyer, Glossu Rabban, and many more.

Reported by Screenrant, the role of the iconic character was originally assigned to Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, The Odyssey). The cast list of the series was release with involving Bautista will include Callum Vinson (The Night Agent, Crystal Lake) as Atreus, Alastair Duncan (Dune: Awakening, NCIS) as Mimir and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) as Phoebe/Sif.
The plot of the series will follow the same narrative as in the 2018 video game, where Kratos and Atreus could on a journey to scatter their late mother/wife’s ashes on the highest peak in all the realms, while dealing with dangerous gods and beast along the way.
Many fans are excited on see Bautista to wear the iconic red tattoo, and wielding his weapons which would be the Leviathan Axe and Blades of chaos. While there is no confirmed release date at the moment, but production is scheduled to resume on filming and reshooting scenes for its two season plan.
