Kit Connor Reveals Season Three NSFW Scenes In Netflix’s ‘Heartstopper’

According to Deadline, Kit Connor (Rocketman, Ready Player One) stated that Heartstopper has taken a slow approach to filming the intimate scenes. Heartstopper is a young adult television adaptation of the graphic novel series of the same name that stars Kit Connor as Nick Nelson and Joe Locke (Agatha All Along) as Charlie Spring navigating their same-sex relationship in high school.

The show premiered in 2022 and is well-known for being heartwarming among viewers and celebrities. In season three, the group of LGBTQ+ teenagers enter their sixth form, which is equivalent to the United States’ senior year. Now, the show is ready to take things to the next level.

“We’ve been taking baby steps,” Connor said in an interview with The Sunday Times. “Season 1, [the intimacy coordinator] would be there making sure that we were comfortable holding hands. And now we’re doing the sex scenes. We shot a lot of footage for them. Not much actually ended up in the show. But we shot the sex scenes for about seven hours!”

The show, with progressive romantic plot lines with lesbian and gay couples and non-binary and transgender experiences, follows the characters and their first times. Connor stated via The Sunday Times interview that Heartstopper provides a fresh outlook for parents regarding their teenagers.

Additionally, Connor told Deadline, “We kind of provide a bit of a guideline for parents. Especially in Season 3, with some of the topics that we discuss.”

Heartstopper has been a bona fide streaming hit, as the series was on Netflix’s Top 10 in 54 countries. Season two left audiences in suspense after Nick and Charlie were going to confess their love to each other. Season three will give a rundown of the school year, testing which characters support each other amongst the life choices they must face.

The creator and writer, Alice Oseman (Radio Silence, Solitaire), informed the public via a Netflix interview, “Season 2 ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through Season 3. While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up. Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”
