Kevin Costner Confirms He’s Not Coming Back For The Final Episodes Of ‘Yellowstone’

Two days ago, Paramount Network revealed on YouTube that the final episodes of Yellowstone will return on November 10.

In this recent announcement, no information was given about whether Kevin Costner’s (The PostmanDances with Wolves) character, John Dutton, would be in the show’s last episodes. Thus, fans had to look for recent interviews with Costner, hoping to find out if he had said anything about returning to the show.

For example, an interview with People from two days ago reveals that Costner was disappointed by the lack of support from his former co-stars, stating, “I read all the stories. I was disappointed that nobody on their side… ever stepped up to defend what it was I actually did for them. There came a moment where I thought, ‘Wow, when is somebody going to say something about what I have done versus what I haven’t done?'”

As reported earlier in May, Costner expressed openness to reprising his role as John Dutton in the final episodes. However, soon after the YouTube announcement, Costner ended all rumors about his potential comeback by stating on Instagram that he would not be returning.

In a video he posted to Instagram, Costner explained, “I want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5B or into the future. It was something that really changed me. I loved it. And I know you loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning and I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop and I’ll see you at the movies.”
