Just like her Scandal counterpart Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington is certainly good at keeping secrets. The star of the ABC show married fiancé Nnamdi Asomugha in a private ceremony on June 24, People confirmed yesterday.
The wedding and even the relationship were big news for fans of the actress, as she rarely talks about her personal life. Sports gossip site Terez Owens was the first to report news of the ceremony, which took place in Hailey, Idaho.
Washington’s recent rise to stardom is a result of her roles both on Scandal and in last year’s Oscar-nominated “Django Unchained”. She has also appeared in “Peeples” and “For Colored Girls”.
Asomugha, a NFL player, is a cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers. He has also made guest appearances on television shows like Friday Night Lights, The Game and Leverage.
The couple has reportedly been dating since last summer.
